Its vs. It's

"IT'S" is a contraction of "It is" or "It has".

For example:


Lots of people get tripped up because "it's" has an 's after it, which normally means something is possessive. But in this case, it's actually a contraction.


 

"ITS is the "possessive form of the pronoun - IT".

For example:

Remember this boys and girls. No pronoun uses an "apostrophe" to indicate possession.
