Hey guys! Coach Rich here.
Have you ever wanted to try something new, but hesitant to do it?
Or how about wanting to improve a skill or situation but couldn't.
These might be the result of having low self-confidence.
In this first of the three series, I'll discuss one of the effective ways to boost your self-confidence.
This method is not just for improving your communication skills but also for solving specific problems and reaching a personal goal.
How to boost self-confidence, Part 1 - "Constant Repetition."
"Confidence comes from competence."
Self-confidence is a SKILL, meaning you can develop it through constant practice.
Psychologically, some people tend to blink more while speaking if under stress or anxiety.
And Lack of experience and practice may cause this problem.
In my case, I'm confident speaking English in front of people due to my teaching experience of 18 years.
Still, I was not comfortable speaking in front of the camera because this was something new to me.
The point here is, the more you do it, the more you get better at it, and the more you feel comfortable in it.
When you keep practicing and exposing yourself to the experience, results will show.
People can also notice your improvements and might give you some "validation."
But, the only critic that matters is YOU.
By observing yourself, recognizing the hard work you've put in, and
accepting your flaws, you would be able to correct and improve yourself.
And this is one way to boost "self-confidence."
I challenge you to do that one goal you want to achieve but makes you uncomfortable.
Get something interesting done for yourself this week.
Thank you, and see you next time!
